1. Amalfi Coast, Italy

Dreaming of a bucket list babymoon in Italy? The Amalfi Coast is breathtaking. I experienced it firsthand during my own babymoon to Italy, and it was one of the most relaxing and scenic places to visit while pregnant.
Italy is always a good idea, but for expectant mothers, it’s especially enjoyable—beautiful scenery, incredible food, and warm hospitality make it an easy and stress-free getaway. The Amalfi Coast, with its colorful cliffside villages and sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea, feels like a dream.
Getting there is part of the adventure—whether driving the scenic coastal roads or arriving by boat—but Italy’s reliable transportation makes it seamless, even when traveling pregnant.
Timing matters. Summer brings warm waters and lively energy, but the shoulder seasons (spring and early fall) offer fewer crowds and milder temperatures. We planned our babymoon for May, and the weather was perfect—though the water was still a bit chilly!
Where to Stay for an Amalfi Coast Babymoon
During my babymoon, staying at Borgo Santandrea Amalfi Hotel made the trip even more special. Tucked into a secluded cove with panoramic coastal views, the hotel felt private and peaceful. Mornings started with ocean views from our room, and afternoons were spent at the beach club with mocktails and gourmet meals—think perfect pizzas, handmade pasta, and fresh seafood.Be sure to try our favorite restaurant in Amalfi, Da Ciccio’s – a family run restaurant since 1911!
The Amalfi Coast isn’t just about relaxing at a beautiful hotel—there’s plenty to explore. Wander the charming streets of Positano, grab a handmade gelato, cruise to Capri, or hike the Path of the Gods for sweeping views. Whether you’re unwinding or out exploring, every day here feels unforgettable.

Tips for A European Babymoon
If you are planning a babymoon to Europe, there are plenty of fantastic options! There are several factors to keep in mind when choosing a destination. As someone who has traveled all around Europe while pregnant, here are my tips:
- Timing is Key: The best time to travel is typically during the second trimester (around weeks 14-28). Morning sickness has usually passed, and you’re not yet too uncomfortable. Weeks 23-24 were perfect for me!
- Check Travel Restrictions: Ensure you’re up-to-date with any travel advisories or guidelines for your destination and prepare accordingly.
- Pack Smart: Don’t forget your prenatal vitamins, comfortable clothing, medical records, and insurance details. Consider compression socks for long flights to prevent swelling.
- Stay Hydrated and Rested: Traveling while pregnant can be tiring, so take it easy, stay hydrated, and listen to your body. Plan for regular breaks and naps if needed. I definitely pushed myself too far a few times walking all around Rome and Geneva.
- Travel Insurance: Double-check your travel insurance covers pregnancy-related issues and unexpected medical expenses abroad.
- Local Cuisine: Indulge sensibly in local cuisine but be cautious of food safety. Opt for well-cooked meals and avoid raw or undercooked dishes.
- Stay Safe: Be mindful of your surroundings, keep valuables secure, and have emergency numbers handy. It’s always good to have a plan in case of unexpected situations. Know where to seek medical care should you need it.
- Enjoy Relaxing Activities: Plan activities that are soothing and not too strenuous. Consider leisurely walks, spa treatments (check for prenatal options), or scenic boat tours.
Remember, the key to a successful babymoon is finding a good balance between adventures and relaxation. Have a wonderful and memorable trip!
