Hi! I’m Lindsey and Leisurely Linds is your virtual destination for all things luxury travel.
I started this blog in 2021 after a bucket list trip to Egypt with my husband. I was a little bored of my 9-5 job and felt like I needed to do something creative and put it out there in the universe! I wanted a place to remember some of the bucket list trips we’d taken over recent years. It was purely for fun and mostly for myself.
But over many, many years of working at it in any free moment, it grew to over 1M annual readers. Leisurely Linds and my brand, Leisurely Travel Co, evolved into my full-time career in 2025 where I write about my own trips and offer hands-on planning services to help you travel better. Here’s a bit more about my background and this blog if you want the full story:
I am a beach girl in every sense of the word. One of my goals in life is to visit every beach in the world! I grew up on a barrier island of Charleston, South Carolina called Folly Beach. As a kid, I was constantly in a swimsuit soaking up the salt and sun while hardly making time for lunch. I attribute this coastal upbringing to my laid back and go with the flow outlook, or some would call it leisurely.
Growing up in a tourist destination, that is now voted a #1 city by Conde Nast and Travel + Leisure readers, I was always interested in the travel industry. I have a degree in travel and tourism management from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) and worked for my local tourism board for nearly a decade. I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up, but it definitely involves travel!
My parents are divorced and of course neither of them single handedly took my two sisters and me to exotic destinations growing up. I’ve been to Disney World at least 30 times (and even worked there), but we never traveled internationally (other than a cruise). That is until my (now) husband and I visited the Bahamas in 2016.

Since then, we have been on non-stop adventures from wine tasting in Napa Valley to surfing in Costa Rica to honeymooning in Seychelles to exploring castles in tiny Bornholm. We’re constantly adding to and checking things off the bucket list. I’ve had a lot of catching up to do, but have managed to hit 20+ new countries across 5 continents all while using my limited PTO days.
Now, that we welcomed our two children, we love to see the world through their eyes and travel as much as possible as a family. Of course, I share everything we learn along the way to make your family vacations a little easier.
Why am I writing this?
I am obsessed with researching and planning trips. I love the process almost as much as I love exploring a new destination itself which is why I finally took the plunge on creating this blog. I started this blog in 2021 as a hobby for the pure joy that it brings me to talk about travel and inspire others to see the world and learn from other cultures. I have so much advice to offer from my own travels and love sharing it here.
After 4.5 years of writing this blog, it has since become my full time job along with my luxury travel agency, Leisurely Travel Co.
How will I help you?
I am a traveler, first and foremost. And only recently, a luxury travel blogger and advisor. I’m a girl living a normal life with my mortgage, 2 babies, and a full-time job. As glamorous as it sounds, I never see myself traveling full time, but I love getting to write about it here full time!
I love Charleston, my house, and regularly spending time with family and friends. With that said, I believe you can balance both dreams and escape from reality as often as possible. I hope to show you how so you aren’t waiting on retirement to do the things you want to do.
I value truly experiencing the heartbeat of a destination and enjoying a city the way a local would – no tourist traps here! Expect honest, unbiased reviews from a girl like you who plans and pays for her own trips. I’m also a big fan of eating good food so I hope you’re hungry!
What started as a blog where I wrote about trips with my husband and friends has evolved with me to where I write about our family travels with two kids in tow. Whether your planning a honeymoon, girls weekend, or your family vacation, I’ve been there and feel honored to play a small role in your vacation memories.
