If you’re planning a family trip to Boston and want a luxury hotel that feels just as special for the adults as it does for the kids, the Four Seasons Hotel Boston is one to consider! I absolutely loved the hotel especially for the beautiful design details throughout! It felt special and more boutique than your normal Four Seasons city hotel.
Located at 200 Boylston Street, overlooking the Boston Public Garden, this hotel is in such a great spot for exploring the city with little ones. We stayed here with our 2 year old toddler and 7 month baby, and I was impressed by how thoughtfully the hotel accommodated families without compromising the elevated experience you’d expect from Four Seasons.
From the spacious room and thoughtful baby amenities to the secret toy closet (yep, you read that right), delicious breakfast, and walkable location, there were so many details that made our stay enjoyable. We also had a $100 hotel credit through our booking perks, which we used toward drinks at the bar and lunch at Coterie — always a nice bonus when staying at a luxury hotel! If you want these VIP perks, inquire here and I can help as a travel advisor (at no extra cost to you!).
If you’re looking for a high-end Boston hotel where kids are genuinely welcomed but the atmosphere still feels sophisticated, here’s what to know before booking.

Our Room at the Four Seasons Boston

We stayed in a room with two double beds, which worked well for our family with a 2 year old and 7 month old. There was plenty of space for a crib without the room feeling crowded, and we appreciated having a proper closet to keep luggage and baby gear tucked away. The room was so much larger than I expected with a true sitting area and an entry way, too!
The bathroom had both a soaking tub and a separate shower, which is always a practical feature when traveling with kids. Having a tub made bath time with our toddler much easier, while the separate shower was convenient for the adults.

One thing I always consider when booking a hotel with a baby or toddler is how comfortably the room will accommodate everyone. Beyond the bed configuration, think about whether there’s enough floor space for a crib, room to move around with a stroller, and somewhere to store all the extra things that inevitably come with traveling with little ones!
Our room checked those boxes nicely.
I will say the decor in the room was not my favorite, but it was nice. The common areas of the hotel are decorated so thoughtfully that I wished the rooms felt the same way.
Thoughtful Baby and Toddler Amenities

The in-room amenities were another highlight. The hotel provided:
- A nice crib for our baby
- A hooded towel
- A toddler robe
- Noodle & Boo toiletries
- An adorable elephant lovey and blanket for the baby
- Diaper pail
These are the kinds of details that make a stay feel more seamless for parents. I especially appreciate when hotels think beyond simply providing a crib and consider the little things that help children feel comfortable in a new environment.
If you’re traveling with an infant, I’d recommend requesting your crib ahead of arrival and confirming any specific needs with the hotel. If you have a toddler, it’s also worth asking about available children’s amenities before your stay.
Room types and layouts will vary, so if you’re traveling with two children, need a larger bed configuration, or want connecting rooms, I would confirm the exact setup before booking rather than assuming every room category will accommodate your family in the same way.

The Kids’ Secret Toy Closet

This was easily one of my toddler’s favorite parts of the stay! And to be honest, one of mine! It was SO cool and fun for us!
The Four Seasons Boston has a special toy closet for children and the experience is so fun. Kids receive a special key at check-in that opens the closet, where they can choose a toy to take back to their room.
It’s such a simple idea, but it makes children feel included in the arrival experience and gives them something exciting to look forward to. I love when luxury hotels create experiences like this that are genuinely thoughtful without turning the entire hotel into a stereotypical family resort.
Watch my Instagram Reel featuring the secret toy closet here.
If you’re visiting with a toddler or young child, this is definitely something to look forward to. I’d also ask the team at check-in about any other children’s amenities or activities available during your stay.
The Candy Vaults on Every Floor

Another unexpected detail? The hotel has candy vaults on each floor where guests can pick up drinks and snacks. Adults and kids will love this!
It was such a fun little touch and added to the feeling that there were surprises around every corner. These details might seem small, but they’re part of what makes a luxury hotel stay memorable, particularly when you’re traveling with children who notice and get excited about the little things.
Dining at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston
One of the things I look for in a luxury city hotel is good dining on property. When you’re traveling with young children, having the option to enjoy a great meal without always needing to head back out into the city is especially helpful.
We had breakfast and lunch at the hotel, along with drinks at the bar, and enjoyed all three experiences.
Breakfast at the Hotel

Breakfast was included through my booking perks and it was a great way to start the day.
There were plenty of options, including healthier choices like an acai bowl, which I always appreciate when dining at a hotel. I love a beautiful hotel breakfast, but I also like having options beyond the traditional pastries, eggs, and heavier breakfast dishes.
They also had a kids’ menu and cups for little ones, which made breakfast with a toddler that much easier.
Drinks at the Bar

We spent one evening enjoying drinks at the hotel’s pretty bar and it was a lovely way to wind down after a day in Boston.
My toddler joined in with a strawberry sorbet, which she absolutely loved. I always appreciate when a hotel has an elegant atmosphere for adults but still makes children feel welcome when they’re dining or spending time in public spaces.
We also used part of our $100 hotel credit here, which made the experience even better. One of my favorite benefits of booking through the right luxury hotel program is having a credit you can put toward experiences you’d likely enjoy anyway.
Lunch at Coterie

We also had lunch at Coterie, the hotel’s French-inspired restaurant, and really enjoyed it!
I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled salmon, and it was delicious. It was a great option for a relaxed meal without needing to leave the hotel, and we used our hotel credit toward lunch as well.
When traveling with little ones, I think it’s worth having a mix of dining plans. Exploring Boston’s restaurant scene is part of the fun, but having good on-property options gives you flexibility when naps, weather, or everyone’s energy levels change your plans.
If you’re staying at the Four Seasons, I’d consider building in at least one meal at the hotel rather than treating it as somewhere you’ll only sleep.
The Pool and Fitness Center at Four Seasons Boston
The Four Seasons Boston also has a pool and fitness center, although we didn’t get a chance to check either out during our stay.
If access to a pool is important to your family, I’d recommend confirming the current pool hours, children’s access policies, and any age requirements before booking. Pool availability and rules can make a difference when you’re planning a city stay with young children.
The fitness center is another nice amenity for adults who want to keep up with their routine while traveling.
While we can’t personally speak to these facilities from our visit, it’s helpful to know they’re available when comparing the hotel with other luxury options in Boston.
The Location: Perfect for Exploring Boston with Kids

The location is one of the biggest selling points of the Four Seasons Hotel Boston.
Situated at 200 Boylston Street, right by the Boston Public Garden, the hotel puts you within walking distance of some of the city’s loveliest neighborhoods and outdoor spaces.
We loved being able to walk to:
- Boston Public Garden: Perfect for a leisurely stroll, enjoying the greenery, and letting our toddler run wild.
- Beacon Hill: A beautiful neighborhood to wander through, with historic architecture, charming streets, and plenty of photo opportunities.
- Local playgrounds: A must when traveling with a toddler! Having playgrounds within walking distance gives little ones a chance to burn off energy between sightseeing stops.
One of my biggest tips for visiting Boston with young children is to avoid overpacking your itinerary. Boston is such a great city to explore on foot, and staying somewhere central makes it easier to enjoy the city at your own pace.
You can head out for a morning walk, stop at a playground, grab lunch, and return to the hotel for a nap or some downtime without turning the day into a logistical challenge.
For families traveling with a stroller, the location is especially appealing because so much can be done without relying on a car. Just keep in mind that some historic streets and sidewalks can be uneven, so comfortable shoes and a stroller suited to city walking are helpful! This is our travel stroller if you are in the market.

What to Know Before Booking the Four Seasons Boston
A few things I’d keep in mind when planning your stay:
- Choose your room configuration carefully. We stayed in a room with two full beds, which worked for us, but families needing more sleeping space should compare room categories and confirm the exact bed setup.
- Request baby amenities in advance. If you need a crib or have specific requests, let the hotel know ahead of time.
- Take advantage of breakfast benefits. Breakfast was a highlight for us, with plenty of variety and options for children.
- Make time for the little extras. The toy closet and candy vaults were fun surprises that made the stay memorable for our toddler.
- Plan around the location. The Public Garden, Beacon Hill, and playgrounds make it easy to build a family-friendly itinerary without overplanning.
- Check pool details before arrival. We didn’t use the pool or fitness center, so confirm current access and policies if those amenities are important to you.
Is the Four Seasons Boston Worth It for Families?
For families looking for a luxury hotel in Boston, I loved the Four Seasons and would absolutely consider it.
What I loved most was the balance. The hotel felt elegant and elevated, but the team had clearly put thought into making children feel welcome. From the crib and toddler amenities to the secret toy closet, the experience felt tailored to families without sacrificing the atmosphere that makes a luxury hotel special. If you are traveling here without kids, you would never even know about these things.
The location was another major plus. Being able to walk to the Public Garden, Beacon Hill, and playgrounds made exploring Boston with a toddler much easier. Add in the enjoyable dining experiences and the value of our hotel credit, and it made for a really lovely family stay.
It’s the kind of hotel I’d recommend to parents who want a beautiful city getaway with their children but don’t necessarily want to stay at a traditional family resort.
