Weather in the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast experiences all seasons so it’s important to check the expected weather patterns and 10 day forecast ahead of your trip. In the winter, expect it to be cold and businesses closed. In April, hotels and restaurants begin to reopen for the season and tourist flock to this sparkling coastline. The weather begins to warm in April and May with average high temps in the 70s. Moving into June and through September you can expect lovely European summer temperatures into the 80s/90s! Then, it starts to cool down in October/November again and business close for the season. Below, I’m breaking it down further where I will address each season!
What to Wear in the Amalfi Coast in Spring (April & May)
Spring time in the Amalfi Coast is lovely! It is considered shoulder season and most hotels will begin reopening in March/April. This means you can usually still scored a good hotel deal.
I visited the Amalfi Coast in May and we had the best time. May was actually the perfect temperature of warm, sunny and 75 degree days. In the sun, it felt even warmer than this – enough to sweat and get a sunburn (but, don’t!). The water temperature will still be a bit chilly, but we still swam and it felt nice once you adjusted.
I wore chic swimsuits and coverups by day and sundresses with heels at night for dinners out. I did carry a light sweater at night and do recommend.
