Sharing all about my Miami Babymoon relaxing on South Beach, dining at the best restaurants, and getting pampered at the spa!
Why take one babymoon when you can take two, right?? I planned one last international trip before becoming a mom where we visited Italy’s Amalfi Coast during my second trimester. In my third trimester, we wanted to do one last long weekend sitting on the beach relaxing. We chose Miami because of the convenient direct flight from where we live in Charleston, the white sand beaches, and warm weather. It was perfect for being 33 weeks pregnant – I went to the beach, pool, spa, and tried some amazing restaurants! Read on to hear all about what we did for our Miami Babymoon.

How to Get to Miami
If you are flying to Miami you’ve got two options. I recommend checking both to see which offers the best timing, price, and fewer connections from your home destination. Most airlines allow travel up until you are 36 weeks pregnant – be sure to check your airlines requirements and take any appropriate documentation.
- FLL – Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. It is about 30-45 minutes driving into South Beach. We chose to use FLL for this trip because JetBlue flies direct from our hometown and we had a JetBlue credit to use!
- MIA – Miami International Airport. Definitely the most popular option serving multiple direct fly cities. You will arrive right into Miami, about 20 minutes drive to South Beach.
Leisurely Tip: You can actually schedule an Uber ahead of time here which tells you the price and your driver. It was a great experience. I’ve scheduled Ubers before, but it is much better these days!
Where to Stay in Miami
There are a couple options on where to stay when it comes to Miami. I recommend you stay in the Iconic South Beach or Downtown Miami as a first time visitor.
South Beach is probably what you think of when you think Miami. It’s got art deco vibes, vibrant nightlife, and beautiful beaches. It is a great location, but also pricier. This is my top choice for a babymoon to Miami if you want to spend time on the beach.
Downtown Miami is one of the busiest areas with plenty of things to see and do. Think world renowned restaurants, high end shopping, and plenty of nightclubs.
Best Hotels in South Beach
Sharing all about the hotels we considered for this trip and where we ultimately decided to stay for our Miami Babymoon.
1 Hotel South Beach
We stayed at 1 Hotel South Beach and it was perfect for this trip. We loved the health conscious atmosphere, multiple pool options, onsite restaurants, the spa, and of course the beachfront location. The rooms are quite spacious and would actually be a great place to return with your baby! The decor is neutral tones and minimalistic which gives major Tulum vibes.
We loved the two separate pools. The main pool gets busy so recommend going early (before 10am) to stake out your chairs. On a Saturday, it definitely had more party vibes with music playing and lots of people. We spent more time at the smaller pool which was quite popular with families and kids – it was nice and quiet which was a nice pace whilst pregnant. The hotel’s beach setup was wonderful too and offers the same service as pools (drinks, meals, etc.)
Leisurely Tip: Book an early morning spa appointment so you can enjoy the relaxation areas with less people – it gets busy on the weekends! They do offer prenatal massages and it was fantastic!
Miami Beach EDITION
Miami Beach EDITION is a luxury boutique hotel and a great choice for couples. It features 2 pools, ocean view rooms, a spa, and onsite dining with menus developed by a Michelin star chef. There is even an ice skating rink and bowling alley inside which could be fun sober activities for your babymoon!
The premiere bungalow ocean view suite offers your own private plunge pool overlooking the ocean – definitely right up my alley!
The Setai, Miami Beach
The Setai is located a few blocks south of 1 Hotel and might be where we choose to stay next time for its more intimate nature. We popped inside to check it out and it was very nice with more of a boutique hotel feel that I love. They were doing their big Sunday brunch which seemed super popular with a band setup, too!
The property is decorated in Asian style finishings, features 3 onsite pools, spa, and 4 onsite dining options including the Setai Grill known for its steak and Asian-inspired menu.
Aman Miami Beach – Opening Soon
We 100% would have chosen the Aman Miami Beach, but it is not open yet! It has recently began construction and will be open in 2026. Keep it on your radar for any future trips.
Four Seasons Hotel Miami
Four Seasons Hotel Miami is always a safe choice! You can’t go wrong with Four Seasons. This one is located away from South Beach in Downtown Miami above trendy Brickell Avenue and along the bay. It has 2 outdoor pools, but also allows convenient access to shopping and dining at some of the best restaurants in Miami. You get the best of both worlds!
Best Restaurants in Miami
If you know me at all, you know I always have a long list of restaurants on my radar. Unfortunately, I never have enough time to try them all in one trip, but you all get the benefit of my extensive research! Here is where we ate this time and what’s on deck for our next Miami trip.
Mandolin Aegean Bistro
Being Greek, I love Greek food so was excited to try Mandolin. It looks like it is straight out of the Greek Isles with the white and blue facade. Once you enter, the seating is all open air and the menu features all of your Greek favorites. Think lots of mezzes and popular dishes like baked feta, moussaka, and baklava of course. We shared the watermelon and feta salad, baked feta, spanakopita, hummus with zucchini, and of course baklava.
Le Jardinier
We knew we were going to try a Michelin Star restaurant in Miami and glad we chose Le Jardinier. The restaurant focuses on fresh, vegetable forward dishes which was great being pregnant because I can’t eat a ton at one time and appreciate light, healthy meals! We each did the tasting menu – my husband did a pescatarian menu and I chose the vegetarian one so I didn’t have to worry about anything undercooked.
Habitat
We had a reservation booked our first night, but that restaurant closed right before our trip so we got the chance to dine at the hotel. We ate at Habitat which offers Mexican style cuisine and a lively bar! The food was honestly so good and I’m glad it worked out this way. I loved the grouper tacos, cauliflower elote, and their extensive mocktail menu.
Plnthouse
Plnthouse is a plant based restaurant located at 1 Hotel conveniently next to the gym. It’s so good for breakfast with any type of acai bowl, smoothie, toasts and at lunch get a fresh veggie bowl, wrap or salad!
Los Fuegos by Francis Mallman
Francis Mallman is a legendary Argentine chef – checkout his episode on Chef’s Table. We have dined at his restaurant in Mendoza so know this would be good. While we didn’t make it this trip, I can speak from experience that his restaurants are worth a visit. He uses an open fire cooking technique giving his creations a perfect smoky flavor. I would go for lunch and get the wood-fired lobster roll! And, don’t miss the empanadas!
LEKU Miami
LEKU is a Spanish style restaurant located inside the Rubell Museum. You’ll find plenty of seating inside or outside in their lush garden. The menu features a celebration of Basque style cooking with sharable vegetables, tons of starters like croquetas and short rib sliders, and a meat heavy entree selection with everything from salmon to duck breast.
Byblos Miami
Byblos is known for their Eastern Mediterranean cuisine offered in vibrant restaurant setting. The menu is filled with favorites like hummus, crispy artichoke, falafel, Turkish dumplings, kebabs, and lots of fresh veggies!
La Sandwicherie
La Sandwicherie is the best place to go for French style sandwiches. All of your favorite ingredients piled onto a soft baguette or buttery croissant! You can literally get any type of sammie you might be craving, plus they offer a few vegan options! They have locations all over Miami for your convenience.
Makoto
Makoto is an upscale Japanese restaurant featuring sushi, ramen, fried rice, and steaks. There are even a few tempura sushi options which is great for pregnancy sushi cravings!
Amalia
Amalia is located at the Lennox Hotel in Miami. It is a fusion of all kinds of flavors from Moroccan to Italian to Argentinian. I would go for brunch and enjoy dishes like shakshuka, pancakes, and yogurt bowls! Or stop by for dinner if you are craving pastas – they have gnocchi, risotto, ravioli, and more. It would actually be a great spot for a girls weekend too!
Los Felix
Los Felix is a Mexican style restaurant that has earned one Michelin star. They pay homage to traditional cooking techniques and ingredients like heirloom corn, cacao, and chiles. Enjoy farm to table cooking and made from scratch tortillas with dishes like grilled octopus, al pastor tacos, tamales, and even chilaquiles at brunch! You can count on great food in a lively atmosphere with music playing all day.
Things to Do in Miami
Here is what we did during our babymoon to Miami. Being super pregnant, relaxation was the main priority of this trip!
Visit the Spa
No babymoon is complete without a visit to the spa! You definitely deserve to be pampered. Book prenatal spa appointments at your hotel and relax your body & mind before you welcome your little one to the world.
Relax at the Beach
You came all the way to Miami so make sure to spend ample time on the beach relaxing and reading some pregnancy/parenting books.
Shop in Miami Design District
Miami is known for its shopping especially high end shopping from fashion to jewelry to art galleries. Head to the Miami Design District where you’ll find luxury stores like Chanel, Prada, and Louis Vuitton. Plus other boutiques like Reformation, Sephora, and Veronica Beard. Great place to pick yourself out a little push present (hint to the dads).
What to Pack for a Miami Babymoon
Bring all of your chic resort wear to South Beach. People definitely dress to impress! At the beach, rock your bikini or one piece with a chic coverup. For dinners, pack some bump friendly dresses and a pair of comfortable heels. We regrettably didn’t take any photos of ourselves this trip so I can’t show you my outfits.
My strategy for dressing the bump during the summer was either stretchy swimsuits or sizing up in normal bikinis! Most of mine actually fit throughout pregnancy. I loved this olive green one because the fabric stretches with you so you can wear before & after – worth the investment! Here are some ideas of Miami outfits:

Don’t forget to pack a clean sunscreen and hat – pregnancy increases your risk of sunburn!
