Dry January is here so I am sharing all the best mocktail bars in Charleston where you can still indulge in a delicious non-alcoholic beverage. Whether you don’t drink, are pregnant, or are on a detox cleanse, these places have creative mocktail menus. Don’t worry, I’m not sending you to places where you ask for a “cocktail minus the liquor”, these are places that take their zero-proof beverages seriously. 1. Park and Grove
Park and Grove features fresh mocktails on each of their breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. For brunch, I love the “Rising Sun” with pineapple juice, ginger, and turmeric for a refreshing brunch cocktail that feels like you’re drinking a mimosa with immunity boosting power! If you are dining during January restaurant week, they are even doing a mocktail pairing with the dinner menu!
2. Little Palm Bar
Little Palm is the trendy pool bar at the Ryder Hotel. They have tropical themed mocktails with fresh fruit and juices. Try the bartenders choice if you’re up for anything or the the “shallow end” with fresh berries and lime.
3. The Gin Joint
The Gin Joint is known for their gin based cocktails. They also have an inventive mocktail menu featuring drinks with syrups, teas, and herbs. Try the “European Outlaw” with tea, raspberry, thyme, and ginger.
4. The Watch Rooftop Kitchen and Spirits
The Watch Rooftop is a great mocktail bar in Charleston. They have 5 different mocktails all adapted from a classic cocktail like Negroni, margaritas, etc. Definitely try the Sechey 75 with gin alternative, lemon and rosemary!
5. Citrus Club
The Citrus Club has one of the highest rooftops in Charleston known for their citrus themed cocktails. The drinks are super inventive and any of them would be good if you ask for them without the alcohol. They do have two mocktails on the menu with one featuring the hotel’s signature Dewberry tea!
6. Butcher and Bee
Butcher and Bee has a buzz free section on their menu with a mocktail, probiotic soda, housemaid teas, and honey sodas. It’s a great lunch option where you can have good NA beverages with an amazing meal.
7. The Longboard
I love The Longboard on Sullivan’s for mocktails! They have several ones that are so good. I love the “I’m driving” with blood orange and cucumber-basil lemonade. But, my favorite is the “anonymous unanimous” with lemon ginger beer and mint.
8. Basic Kitchen
Basic Kitchen is an amazing plant based restaurant off of King Street. They have many mocktails like a virgin Bloody Mary and Moscow Mule. They also do tons of fresh juices which make a great non alcoholic brunch drink! BK is very well known for their beet margarita – definitely worth trying sans tequila.
9. Gingerline
Gingerline has a great cocktail menu which doubles as their mocktail menu, too. You can order any of their drinks without alcohol! This makes it so easy to have what your friends are having. Try their “passionate mule crusher” with lime, ginger beer, and and vanilla passion fruit served over ice. And how picturesque is their space??
10. Felix
Felix is a French style bistro located on Charleston’s popular upper King Street area. It’s a great place to have lunch or dinner or drop by for a cocktail at the bar. They do a couple great mocktails and you can even order a dealer’s choice to let the bartender create something special. Try the À Santé with kombucha, orange juice and ginger beer!
