Who doesn’t love a rooftop? When I visit a new city, I always try to find a rooftop for drinks on my first night there. It really allows you to get a lay of the land in addition to the amazing sunset views. As spring approaches, I am so ready to be outside soaking up the nice weather.
In Charleston, the buildings can not be any taller than our church steeples which creates an amazing skyline dotted with steeples and water in every direction. From breweries to restaurants, I am sharing all of my favorite rooftop restaurants in Charleston SC!
Rooftop Restaurants in Charleston SC
All the best rooftop restaurants in Charleston SC to grab a cocktail or a meal.
The Citrus Club
334 Meeting St 8th floor
The Citrus Club is a fun rooftop cocktail bar featuring citrus and tropical inspired drinks and light bites. It is located on the 8th floor of The Dewberry hotel making it the highest rooftop restaurant in Charleston.
The Watch Rooftop Kitchen and Spirits
75 Wentworth St
The Watch is one of my favorite rooftop restaurants in Charleston. It has amazing 360 degree views of Charleston. The food menu is extensive and so good! You will find things like french toast, burgers, salads, charcuterie boards, seafood, and be sure to try the truffle fries. It’s a great brunch spot or even for sunset cocktails.
Stars Rooftop and Grill Room
495 King St
Stars is located right along King Street and has great views of this popular street. The restaurant on the first floor has good food, but the rooftop is more drinks focused and is a great spot to hangout.
Fiat Luxe at Hotel Bennett
404 King St.
Fiat Luxe is a swanky little rooftop spot located inside the luxurious Hotel Bennett. It has big windows that open up on a nice day making it all open air. They have great cocktails, wines, and champagne, and several mocktails if you are looking for really good drinks!
Ritual
145 Calhoun St.
Ritual is one of the newest rooftop bars in Charleston with lots of great lounge seating. It has major Tulum vibes and an accompanying menu with tropical cocktails, fish tacos, quinoa salad, and more. It overlooks beautiful Marion Square in Charleston. They are also open late night so a great spot if you are in your 20s to early 30s.
Eleve Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge
55 Wentworth St.
Eleve is located at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in a whimsical garden setting. There’s cozy lounge seating and turf for flooring. There’s also full restaurant seating and bar inside. Go for brunch, lunch, dinner or cocktails!
Pavilion Bar
225 East Bay St
Pavilion Bar is a rooftop bar overlooking historic Charleston and the city market. It is at the Market Pavilion Hotel and even has a pool for hotel guests. A great place to stay in Charleston if looking for a rooftop pool party spot.
The Rooftop at the Vendue
19 Vendue Range
The Rooftop at the Vendue Hotel is one of the best rooftop restaurants in Charleston SC. In fact, Charleston City Paper constantly votes them the “Best Rooftop Bar” spot. It is located off of East Bay Street close to the harbor. You will have amazing views of the church steeples and the Ravenel bridge. They are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Cocktail Club
479 King St.
Cocktail Club is one of my favorite bars in Charleston. It is such a cool space with a small rooftop garden out back. You do not get many views here, but if you are looking for outdoor space, this is a great choice.
Uptown Social
587 King St.
Uptown Social is similar in that its rooftop is tucked away without offering much of a view. It is a super fun and spacious rooftop for day drinking. They usually have a band or DJ and there is always a young crowd.
Bar 167
5 Fulton St.
Bar 167 is a new, Mediterranean inspired restaurant and bar. The focus is on cocktails, but the small food menu is incredible. They’ve got great seafood, salads, and caviar doughnuts! Stay inside or head out back to the small rooftop terrace. Again, there is not much of a view here, but is a fun outdoor vibe.
Rooftop Breweries in Charleston SC
My top rooftop breweries in Charleston to try local craft beer.
Revelry Brewing
10 Conroy St
Revelry Brewing is one of my favorite breweries to visit because they have great beer, but also, wine, prosecco, and seltzers. The best part is their fabulous rooftop space that looks toward the Ravenel bridge and Charleston harbor.
Pour Taproom
560 King St
Pour Taproom is a cool concept that has craft beer taps throughout the space. You pour for yourself and pay by the ounce. It allows you to create your own sample of local beers. It has a smaller outdoor space, but the inside is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows so you can take in the views.
