I visited Costa Rica in January for a romantic getaway with my husband and we had the best time. The weather was warm and sunny, perfect for both exploring and unwinding. We spent one day taking a surf lesson and another just relaxing in a private cabana with ocean views.
January is one of the best times to visit because it’s dry season, so you’ll have ideal beach weather without the humidity or afternoon showers.

We stayed at Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas, a boutique adults-only hotel in the Guanacaste region, and it was the perfect home base. The views were stunning, the service was thoughtful, and every villa had its own private plunge pool. It felt like our own little hideaway, but close enough to enjoy nearby beaches and activities.
Maldives
The Maldives is the ultimate honeymoon destination that is remote, luxurious, and unbelievably romantic. Mendoza in March is incredible, especially if you love wine. It’s harvest season, so the vineyards are buzzing with activity, and the weather is just perfect and not too hot or cold. Patagonia, Chile
March is also the ideal time to visit Patagonia and it’s when we visited. The weather is cooler but comfortable, making it perfect for hiking and exploring this stunning region. The landscapes with towering mountains, turquoise lakes, and vast glaciers are breathtaking.

Japan
Japan in April is truly magical thanks to sakura season. Cherry blossoms blanket parks, temples, and streets in soft pink, creating an unforgettable romantic backdrop. We went this past April and it was an incredible, bucket list trip worthy for a honeymoon!
Kyoto is where history and tradition come alive with stunning temples like Kiyomizu-dera and Fushimi Inari Shrine. It’s perfect for slow walks, tea ceremonies, and getting lost in charming old neighborhoods. We loved Kyoto the most!
Tokyo is a contrast, with its buzzing energy, futuristic architecture, and endless dining options—from sushi counters to Michelin-starred restaurants. You can explore everything from peaceful gardens to vibrant neighborhoods like Shibuya and Asakusa.

Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston in April feels like a European springtime with historic streets lined with blooming azaleas and magnolias, pastel-colored homes, and cobblestone alleys. The weather is warm but not hot, making it ideal for strolling the historic district or exploring plantations just outside the city.
April is packed with events, from garden tours to food festivals, giving you plenty of chances to taste Lowcountry cuisine, sip craft cocktails, and listen to live jazz. If you want some beach time, Folly Beach and Sullivan’s Island are close and welcoming.
Charleston’s charm comes from its slow pace, friendly locals, and incredible architecture. It’s a perfect mix of romance, history, and laid-back luxury ideal for a honeymoon destination!

The Charleston Place is classic Southern elegance with a luxurious spa, rooftop pool, and fine dining.
The Dewberry offers a boutique experience with mid-century modern design and a cozy, intimate bar perfect for date nights. I’ve stayed here a few times and just adore it! I also visit their spa regularly as a local! It’s the best.
Zero George is a historic townhouse turned hotel with a quiet courtyard and personalized service that feels like staying with old Charleston friends.
Santorini, Greece
Santorini in April is more quiet and peaceful compared to summer but still bursting with beauty. The famous caldera views, whitewashed buildings, and cobalt-blue domes create a setting straight out of a postcard. The temperatures are warming up, making it perfect for exploring beaches and charming villages without the crowds.
While the sea might be too chilly for long swims, the sunsets here are world-renowned, painting the sky with colors you’ll never forget. Sailing around the island or to nearby Thirassia offers a romantic way to spend your days.

Seychelles
I actually honeymooned in the Seychelles in May, and it was a 10 out of 10 experience. We combined it with a few days in Dubai, but the highlight was definitely the Seychelles. We spent a week splitting time between Praslin and a private island called Félicité. The beaches were some of the most pristine I’ve ever seen—soft white sand, crystal-clear water, and total peace.
We kayaked to tiny private islands, took day trips to La Digue, and soaked up sun on untouched beaches. It’s a perfect honeymoon spot because it offers both pure relaxation and just enough adventure to keep things exciting.

The Amalfi Coast is pure romance! Think: dramatic cliffs, charming villages, and turquoise waters that take your breath away. I went on basically a second honeymoon here with my husband, and it felt like a dream. We indulged in fresh coastal Italian cuisine, cruised by boat along the coast, lounged on the beaches, and wandered through picturesque towns like Positano and Ravello.

We stayed at Borgo Santandrea, one of the newest hotels on the coast that’s already earning accolades as one of Italy’s best. I loved the blue and white tile floors in our room! It was such a fresh and elegant touch. The service was exceptional, and the location right on the beach made it easy to soak up the beauty of the Amalfi Coast every day.

Lake Como, Italy

Keep in mind it’s high season, so expect more people, but the energy is lively and festive.

We visited the Faroe Islands in August one year and lucked out with amazing weather. These remote islands are truly one of the most strikingly beautiful places I’ve ever been. Copenhagen, Denmark
We love Copenhagen and have been several times. It’s one of the most charming European cities, especially in August when the weather is warm, the cafes spill onto the sidewalks, and the days are long and light-filled. You can bike through cobblestone streets, picnic in parks, and enjoy world-class dining and design.
It’s also an easy pairing with the Faroe Islands if you want to combine nature and city life in one trip.

Located just a short flight from the U.S. East Coast, it offers pink sand beaches, turquoise water, and a charming British-Caribbean vibe. August brings warm ocean temps and sunny days that are perfect for beach time, snorkeling, or sailing.
It’s a great option if you want something luxurious and tropical without the long-haul flight.

September is one of my favorite times to visit the Greek Islands. The summer crowds have thinned out, the sea is still warm, and the weather is absolutely perfect. You’ll still get that sunny, relaxed island atmosphere, but with fewer people and a more local feel. It’s the perfect European honeymoon destination for a beach holiday.
Whether you’re sailing between islands or staying in one spot, there’s so much to love like beach clubs, ancient ruins, sunset views, and the most delicious food. Santorini and Mykonos get all the attention, but I also love the quieter charm of islands like Milos, Paros, and Sifnos.

If you want a honeymoon that’s adventurous and completely unforgettable, Egypt in November is a fantastic choice. I’ve been to Egypt and absolutely loved it. It’s one of the most fascinating destinations I’ve ever visited and I’m so glad I went! Standing in front of the pyramids and sailing on a felucca at sunset were some of the most surreal travel moments I’ve had. It’s the kind of place that leaves a deep impression and makes an incredible setting for a once-in-a-lifetime trip like a honeymoon.
Start in Cairo to see the pyramids, Sphinx, and Egyptian Museum, then fly to Luxor or Aswan for temples, tombs, and a slower pace along the Nile. A luxury Nile cruise adds romance and ease to the adventure.
