I am thrilled to announce that our daughter has finally arrived! We had QUITE the delivery experience, but couldn’t feel more fortunate to welcome a healthy baby girl to our family.
Camilla Reeves joined us on September 22nd weighing 7lbs 6oz. She is absolutely perfect. Everyone asks about her name so I’ll share the story. Camilla is a name that we both loved long before we were even pregnant. We knew we’d use the name if we were lucky enough to have a little girl. I love that it is not very common in the US, but IS in other cultures. It’s a popular name in Spain, Italy, and Denmark so we like that it translates well in other countries. Reeves is a family name on my side after my great, great grandfather who was one of the first game wardens in South Carolina. He was unfortunately killed in the line of duty, leaving behind a pregnant wife. Had she not been pregnant at the time, I would not be here today. Oddly enough, our daughter was born on the anniversary of his death – 115 years later.
We are loving parenthood so far – even the sleep deprivation and late night feedings. She is SO sweet and snuggly in the middle of the night that we actually look forward to those wake up calls! 🥰
We have already planned our first trip with her coming up this December and have booked our first Euro-trip for next summer! We can’t wait to navigate traveling as a family and all of the challenges it might present – we know it will be so worth it and look forward to sharing our experience with you all. I would love any advice you have whether your favorite travel stroller, how to fly with breastmilk, what to pack, etc!
