Here are my favorite luxury hotels in Dubai:
I will share where I stayed, where I visited and then my top picks as a luxury travel advisor and who each is best for.
1. Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach
Best for: families, honeymooners and couples who want a beach, a spa, and excellent service. Book the 90-minute massage!

The Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach is a beachfront luxury hotel in Dubai offering guests breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf. This is where we stayed during our 4 days in Dubai honeymoon and loved it!
The hotel boasts 237 guest rooms, including 49 suites, all of which are decorated in a contemporary style with Arabesque touches. The first impression is what really blew me away. They picked us up from the airport with a private driver and on arrival, they whisked us straight up to our suite for check-in with out any of the front desk or waiting around!
The hotel features several dining options, including our favorites which were the Sea Fu restaurant which offers fresh seafood and sushi, and the rooftop Mercury Lounge which serves cocktails and shisha. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s private beach, swimming pools, and incredible spa facilities.
We chose to stay at the Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach for our honeymoon. We were blown away by the accommodations, spa, dining, pool, and the world class hospitality! If you want a luxury hotel with amazing location, wellness facilities and impeccable service, you’ll love Four Seasons.
I also loved that they had a family pool and a quiet adults only pool! It’s a great family friendly option, but the families won’t disturb those of us without kids either!
I’ve seen many people position it as being full of kids, but I truly didn’t notice them since we enjoyed the adult pool, spa, and dining in the evenings.
Leisurely Tip: Book a 90 minute massage! This was probably the best massage I have ever had. You will LOVE the spa here!

2. Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa
Best for: a 2-night desert stay after a few nights in the city.

The Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, Dubai is a luxurious desert resort located in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. The resort features 42 private villas, each of which offers stunning views of the desert landscape.
The villas are decorated in a traditional Arabian style and feature private pools and outdoor showers. The resort offers several dining options, including the Al Diwaan restaurant which serves international cuisine, and the Al Maha Bar which offers cocktails and shisha.
If you want a hotel in Dubai that offers a truly relaxing and quiet stay, being in the desert is incredible. I think it pairs perfectly with a couple nights in the desert and a few in the city to experience the best of both world.
Guests can also enjoy the resort’s spa facilities and desert activities, such as falconry, bedouin dinners, and camel trekking.
Leisurely Tip: We visited the hotel for brunch as part of a Dubai desert tour and it is truly spectacular. I suggest staying in the city for 2-3 nights and then spending 2 in the desert to really immerse yourself in both of these completely opposite experiences.
3. Burj Al Arab
Best for: travelers who want the iconic Dubai moment or opulent luxury. Even if you don’t stay, lunch or spa appt is a great way to see it.

The Burj Al Arab is a world-renowned luxury hotel in Dubai located on a man-made island off the coast of the city. The hotel’s iconic sail-shaped structure is a symbol of Dubai’s modernity and grandeur.
The hotel offers 202 luxurious duplex suites, each of which features a private butler service, a 24-carat gold iPad, and stunning views of the Arabian Gulf. The rooms here are very opulent and not everyone’s cup of tea! It is a unique hotel for sure.
The hotel also features several dining options, including the famous Al Muntaha restaurant which is located 200 meters above sea level and offers panoramic views of the city.
We visited for lunch at SAL and had a great meal overlooking their pool and the Arabian Sea. After, we explored the property and it is so incredible. You can’t go wrong at the Burj Al Arab – constantly referred to as the world’s only 7 star hotel.
4. One&Only Royal Mirage
Best for: guests who want beach time with Arabian-style design

One&Only is a top luxury hotel in Dubai!
The One&Only Royal Mirage is a beautiful luxury beach resort with a more traditional Arabian feel than some of Dubai’s newer, modern hotels. Set along a private stretch of Jumeirah Beach, the property has intricate architecture, lush gardens, and peaceful courtyards that make it feel like a little escape from the city.
The rooms and suites combine Arabian-inspired design with modern comforts, and there are several restaurants to choose from during your stay. Eauzone is a standout for its Asian-inspired menu and beautiful setting overlooking the water, while Olives is a good option for Mediterranean cuisine.
You’ll also have access to a private beach, multiple swimming pools, and a spa, so it’s easy to spend a good portion of your trip enjoying the resort itself. I’d consider One&Only Royal Mirage if you’re looking for a luxurious beachfront stay with a sense of place, beautiful grounds, and a more understated feel than some of Dubai’s bigger, flashier resorts.
5. One&Only The Palm
Best for: couples who want quiet over bustle
If you’re looking for a more secluded and serene experience in Dubai, the One&Only The Palm is the perfect choice. Located on the exclusive Palm Jumeirah island, this luxurious resort offers a private beach, lush gardens, and stunning views of the Dubai skyline. It is a lower rise building and offers more of a retreat that feels like you aren’t even in Dubai.
The rooms and suites are spacious and elegantly designed, with private balconies or terraces. The resort also features a spa, fitness center, and multiple dining options, including a Michelin-starred restaurant.
With its tranquil atmosphere and luxurious amenities, the One&Only The Palm is the ultimate choice for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay in Dubai.
The downside here is that being all the way at the end of The Palm does put you away from many parts of Dubai if you are there to explore. But it’s still a classic choice with top class service.
6. Atlantis, The Palm
Best for: families with kids who want built-in activities. Skip it if you want a quiet, adults-only feel.

If you’re traveling with kids, Atlantis, The Palm is the perfect hotel for you.
The Atlantis, The Palm is a luxury resort located on the Palm Jumeirah Island. The hotel features 1,539 guest rooms and suites, all of which are decorated in a contemporary style with Arabian touches.
The hotel offers several dining options, including the famous Nobu restaurant which serves Japanese cuisine, and the Ossiano restaurant which offers underwater dining experiences. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s private beach, waterpark, and aquarium.
This family-friendly resort offers a variety of aquatic adventures, including a water park with slides and a lazy river, a dolphin encounter experience, and an aquarium with over 65,000 marine animals.
The hotel also has a private beach, multiple pools, and a spa. Dining options include over 20 restaurants and bars, ranging from casual to fine dining.
With so much to do and see, Atlantis, The Palm is sure to provide an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

7. Armani Hotel Dubai
Best for: first-timers who want to be steps from the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa fountains.
The Armani Hotel Dubai is a great option if you want to stay right in the middle of the action. Located inside the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, this hotel is about as Dubai as it gets. The design is sleek, modern, and very much in keeping with Giorgio Armani’s signature style, with understated interiors and a sophisticated feel throughout.
The rooms and suites were designed by Armani himself, with clean lines, neutral tones, and a minimalist aesthetic. You’ll also find a spa, fitness center, and several dining options, including an Italian restaurant by Giorgio Armani.
Who I’d recommend it for: Couples and travelers who want a stylish city stay with easy access to Downtown Dubai’s biggest attractions. You’re right by Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa, making it a convenient base for sightseeing, shopping, and dining.
I’d choose Armani Hotel Dubai if you love contemporary design and want to be right in the heart of the city. It’s a very different experience from staying at one of Dubai’s beachfront resorts, so I’d think about what you want your trip to feel like before deciding between the two.
8. Park Hyatt Dubai
Best for: travelers who want calm and a more local, creekside feel.

If you’re looking for a luxury hotel in Dubai that feels a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, I’d definitely consider the Park Hyatt Dubai. Located along Dubai Creek, this property has a completely different feel from some of Dubai’s bigger, flashier resorts. The lush grounds, waterfront setting, and beautiful architecture make it feel more like a Mediterranean escape than a city hotel.
Personally, I love the Greek Isles feel here, especially the blue domes and all of the pink bougainvillea throughout the property. It’s a beautiful setting if you want a hotel where you can spend time enjoying the grounds, relaxing by the pool, and taking a slower pace between exploring the city.
The rooms and suites are spacious, with balconies or terraces overlooking the marina, golf course, or gardens. There’s also a lovely spa and several dining options, so you have plenty of reasons to enjoy the hotel without feeling like you need to be out exploring all day.
I love this hotel for couples looking for a quieter, romantic stay and families who want a beautiful resort with room for little ones to run around. The walking paths and kids’ pool are nice additions for families, and the location near the airport makes it especially convenient for a shorter Dubai stay or a stopover.
One thing to keep in mind is that Park Hyatt isn’t right on Jumeirah Beach or in the middle of Downtown Dubai, so you’ll need transportation to get to many of the main sights. But if you’re looking for a more peaceful, resort-style experience, that can be part of the appeal.
I’d choose Park Hyatt Dubai if you want a beautiful hotel that feels like a retreat from the city, rather than a stay focused on the big attractions and skyline views. It’s a great option for a slower-paced Dubai trip, especially if you want to enjoy the hotel just as much as the destination.
9. Mandarin Oriental Jumeirah, Dubai
Best for: a dependable luxury stay between the beach and downtown.

The Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai is one I’d consider if you want a luxury beachfront stay with easy access to the rest of Dubai. The location is a big part of the appeal. You’re right on the beach, but still within a short drive of Downtown Dubai and the historic Al Fahidi area, so it’s easy to enjoy both sides of the city without feeling too removed from everything!
Mandarin Oriental is a name I trust when it comes to service, and this property delivers on the details you’d expect from a luxury stay. Think spacious rooms, beautiful marble bathrooms, thoughtful touches throughout your stay, and a spa that makes it tempting to set aside an afternoon just to enjoy the hotel. The dining is another highlight, including a Michelin starred restaurant, and the breakfast buffet gets plenty of praise from clients in my network.
It is great for couples who want a beautiful beachfront hotel without sacrificing convenience, as well as families looking for a luxury stay where the kids are genuinely welcomed. The multiple pools, direct beach access, and dedicated kids club give families plenty to enjoy without needing to leave the property every day.
I’d especially consider it for families who want a more polished, design forward hotel experience rather than a large resort built entirely around children. You can spend the morning at the beach or pool, head into the city for sightseeing or dinner, and come back to a comfortable room and excellent service.
Why it stands out: You get the beach, a great location, excellent dining, and the level of service Mandarin Oriental is known for, all in one stay. If you want to enjoy Dubai’s beachfront lifestyle while still being close to the main sights, this is one I’d have on your shortlist.

10. Bvlgari Resort Dubai
Best for: an exclusive and secluded stay on a private island resort. Great for couples and families alike

Okay, we can’t talk about the best luxury hotels in Dubai without mentioning Bvlgari Resort Dubai! It’s where I want to stay next time for sure and I don’t think anyting else compares. Located on a seahorse-shaped island just minutes from the city, this is one of the properties I’d look at if you’re after something a little more private and exclusive. It has a Mediterranean village feel that you don’t necessarily expect in Dubai, with beautiful architecture, lush gardens, and a setting that feels worlds away from the city’s busy streets.
The resort is part of a larger Bvlgari development that includes private residences, a beach club, and Bvlgari’s own Marina and Yacht Club. The hotel itself has just 101 rooms and suites, along with 20 hotel pool villas, so it feels much more intimate than some of Dubai’s larger luxury resorts.
The accommodations are spacious and thoughtfully designed, with beautiful bathrooms, garden views, and some options offering direct beach access. Service is another highlight, with staff known for being attentive and welcoming throughout your stay.
I love it for couples, honeymooners, and luxury travelers who want privacy, exceptional service, and a beautiful beachfront setting without being too far from everything Dubai has to offer.
It’s also worth considering for families looking for a more intimate luxury experience, with the Little Gems Club offering dedicated activities for younger guests. Plus, the all day gelato kiosk straight from Italy is sure to impress the littles!
Why it stands out: Bvlgari Resort Dubai has a rare combination of a secluded island setting and easy access to the city. Add in the Mediterranean-inspired design, private villas, and marina, and you have a resort that feels quite different from the more traditional Dubai hotel experience. With its Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating and two Michelin Keys, it’s absolutely one to consider if you’re planning a particularly special stay in Dubai.
Where to Stay in Dubai: Choosing the Right Area
One of the first things I recommend deciding when planning a Dubai trip is which area you want to stay in. The city is more spread out than you might expect and each neighborhood offers a very different experience. Some hotels put you right on the beach, others are surrounded by skyscrapers and shopping, and a few feel like a world of their own out in the desert!
If it’s your first visit, I’d start by thinking about whether you want a beach vacation, a city stay, or a little of both. And if you have the time, splitting your stay between two areas is a great way to experience more of Dubai without feeling like you need to see everything in one trip.
Jumeirah Beach
Best for: First-time visitors, couples, and anyone who wants a classic beach vacation.
If you picture Dubai as sunshine, beautiful pools, beachfront restaurants, and afternoons at the spa, Jumeirah Beach is a great place to start. This stretch of coastline is home to some of the city’s best luxury beach resorts, with private beach access, beautiful gardens, and plenty of places to settle in for a few days of doing very little.
I stayed at the Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach on my honeymoon, and this area is especially appealing if you want that resort experience without feeling too far removed from the rest of the city. You can spend the morning by the pool, enjoy a long lunch overlooking the water, and head out to explore Dubai’s restaurants and attractions when you’re ready.
Jumeirah Beach is also a good choice if you want a little of everything. You’ll have easy access to other parts of Dubai by car, while still having a beautiful beach to come back to at the end of the day. For most first-time visitors who want luxury, relaxation, and the flexibility to explore, this is where I’d start looking.
Palm Jumeirah
Best for: Families, resort lovers, and travelers who want a destination within a destination.
Palm Jumeirah is Dubai’s famous palm-shaped island, and it’s home to some of the city’s most impressive luxury resorts. Think sprawling pools, private beaches, elaborate dining experiences, and hotels where you could easily spend an entire day without leaving the property.
This is a particularly good area for families. Atlantis, The Palm, for example, offers an enormous range of activities and entertainment, making it easy to keep children busy between pool time and meals. If you’d rather have a more secluded, intimate resort experience, One&Only The Palm offers a quieter setting with a more boutique feel.
The main thing to know is that Palm Jumeirah is more about the resort experience than exploring on foot. Depending on where you’re staying, getting to Downtown Dubai or other attractions can take some planning, especially with traffic. I’d choose the Palm if the hotel itself is a big part of your vacation and you want plenty of time to enjoy the pools, beach, and restaurants.
Downtown Dubai
Best for: First-time visitors focused on sightseeing, shopping, and restaurants.
If you want to be in the middle of the action, Downtown Dubai is worth considering. This is where you’ll find the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountain area, and a long list of restaurants, with some of the city’s most recognizable hotels nearby.
Staying here makes it easier to combine sightseeing with shopping and dining, without having to travel across the city for every outing. Depending on your hotel, you may be able to walk to major attractions, although Dubai is not generally a city where you can rely on walking for everything. The heat, busy roads, and distances between neighborhoods can make a car or taxi the more comfortable option.
Downtown has a different feel from the beachfront resorts. You’re surrounded by modern architecture, impressive city views, and plenty of activity, rather than sand and sea. I’d choose this area if visiting the Burj Khalifa, spending time at the Dubai Mall, and trying the city’s restaurants are high on your list.
If you have a longer trip, Downtown also pairs nicely with a few nights at a beach resort or in the desert for a change of pace.
Dubai Creek
Best for: Travelers who want a quieter stay and a glimpse of Dubai’s history.
Dubai Creek offers a different perspective on the city, with a more traditional atmosphere than the glitz and skyscrapers of Downtown or the Palm. The historic creek area is closely tied to Dubai’s trading past, and exploring the older neighborhoods, traditional souks, and waterfront is a nice way to see another side of the destination.
You’ll find a mix of luxury hotels and resorts in the wider Dubai Creek area, including properties that feel removed from the busier tourist districts. It’s a good option if you prefer a quieter setting and want to balance Dubai’s modern attractions with a little more history and local character.
Keep in mind that Dubai Creek covers a broader area, so the exact location of your hotel matters. Some properties are well positioned for exploring the historic districts, while others are more resort-like and require a drive to reach the main sights.
I’d consider this area if you’ve visited Dubai before, want something a little different from the usual beachfront stay, or find a particular hotel that makes you excited to spend time on the property.
The Desert
Best for: Couples, special occasions, and travelers looking for a completely different side of Dubai.
A desert stay is one of the most memorable ways to experience Dubai, and it’s worth considering even if you initially planned to spend your entire trip in the city. Instead of skyscrapers and busy roads, you’ll find sweeping dunes, open skies, quiet pools, and hotels that make the surrounding landscape part of the experience.
Properties such as Al Maha offer a more secluded desert retreat, with private accommodations, desert views, and experiences that let you explore the landscape beyond the city. My visit for brunch at Al Maha gave me a taste of this side of Dubai, and it’s a very different experience from staying at one of the city’s beachfront or urban hotels.
The desert isn’t the most practical base if you want to spend every day sightseeing in Downtown or visiting the Palm. That’s exactly why I like the idea of splitting your stay. Spend two or three nights in the city or on the beach, then finish with two nights in the desert to slow down and enjoy the hotel itself.
For a honeymoon, anniversary, or trip where you want something beyond the typical Dubai vacation, I’d seriously consider adding a desert stay. It gives you a completely different experience without needing to travel to another destination.
Best Time to Visit Dubai
The best time to visit Dubai is November through March, when the weather is warm and sunny without the intense summer heat. This is when you can comfortably enjoy the beaches, spend afternoons by the pool, explore the city, and plan a desert excursion without worrying quite as much about the temperatures.
I visited Dubai in April as part of our honeymoon to the Seychelles, since April is an ideal time to visit the islands. It was definitely hot in Dubai, but still very enjoyable! One thing that made the trip especially memorable was experiencing Ramadan, which offered a different perspective on the city and its culture. If you’re interested in experiencing Dubai during this time, it’s worth looking into the dates, since Ramadan shifts each year. Just keep in mind that dining hours and some experiences may operate differently during the holy month.
Otherwise, I’d personally choose a cooler month, especially if it’s your first visit and you want to spend plenty of time exploring outside. November through February is particularly popular for a winter sun escape, so expect higher hotel rates and more demand for the best rooms. If you’re planning a trip during the holidays or school breaks, I’d book your hotel well in advance.
From May through September, temperatures climb considerably, with summer bringing extreme heat and humidity. The upside is that hotel rates can be much lower, making this a good time to find deals at some of Dubai’s most luxurious properties. Just plan to spend more time indoors, enjoy the hotel’s spa and dining options, and save outdoor activities for early mornings or evenings.
If you’re visiting during the cooler months, I’d also recommend booking your hotel early if you have your heart set on a particular property. As a travel advisor, I can help you find the right fit and add VIP perks at participating luxury hotels, which may include daily breakfast, a hotel credit, and room upgrades when available.
Best Experiences in Dubai to Book
Dubai is as much about what you do as where you stay. These are the experiences I loved most and where to book them.
1. Take a Luxury Desert Safari
If you only do one thing outside the city, make it the desert. We did a morning tour with Platinum Heritage: a hotel pickup in a luxury Land Rover, traditional Emirati headwear, a camel ride, a wildlife drive through the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (we spotted Arabian oryx and gazelles), and a gourmet breakfast at Al Maha. A morning tour also beats the heat and leaves your afternoon free.
It’s a conservation-focused alternative to dune bashing, which I skip because it disrupts the wildlife that lives in the dunes.
Prefer an evening? The Authentic Safari in a Vintage Land Rover adds a Bedouin camp, falconry, and a four-course dinner.
👉 Book the tour we did | Read my full Platinum Heritage review
Leisurely Tip: Wear breathable, lightweight clothing and good shoes to walk through the sand.
2. Wander Old Dubai and Ride an Abra
Cross Dubai Creek on a traditional abra, explore the Al Fahidi Historic District, browse the gold and spice souks, and stop for tea at Arabian Tea House. It’s the best way to see how Old and New Dubai sit side by side. If you’d like context, a guided Old Dubai tour includes a heritage house visit, street food tastings, and the abra ride.
3. Have Dinner with the Dubai Fountain Show
Sit outside for dinner at Dubai Mall and watch the fountains dance with the Burj Khalifa lit up behind them. It’s magical. Book a patio table in advance, or get front-row views on a fountain boat tour.
4. Book a Spa Day at the Four Seasons
My 90-minute massage at the Four Seasons Jumeirah Beach was one of the best I’ve ever had. Book your treatment ahead of time, because it’s the kind of thing that fills up. Check rates at the Four Seasons or ask me about VIP perks.
5. Lunch at the Burj Al Arab
We had a poolside lunch at SAL and then walked through the lobby, which is worth seeing even if you aren’t staying. It’s a relaxed way to experience Dubai’s most iconic hotel. Walking through the hotel lobby was outstanding and getting to sit by the pool overlooking the sea was special!
6. Dinner at Roka
Roka was one of the best meals I’ve ever had: fresh local fish, sushi, and an over-the-top dessert tower to finish.
7. Burj Khalifa Views
We admired the Burj Khalifa from the outside, but if you want the highest views in Dubai, you can book an observation deck visit.

The Wrap Up: Where Should You Stay in Dubai?
Dubai has a hotel for every kind of trip. If you want a polished beachfront stay with a great spa, I loved the Four Seasons Jumeirah Beach on our honeymoon. For the desert, Al Maha is unforgettable. Families will have the most fun at Atlantis, and first-timers who want to be in the middle of the city should look at the Armani Hotel.
The right choice comes down to your dates, your budget, and the kind of trip you want. Whichever hotel you choose, I’d pair a few nights in the city with time in the desert to see both sides of Dubai.
